Even though attempts were made to restore the full value of the original ARRA $1,500 credit Congressional leadership did not allow for an open amendment process on the compromise.

Simonton received the highest overall rating in the study compared with all other window and patio door manufacturers surveyed in evaluations of seven factors. Simonton rated among the best in five of the seven Power Circle Ratings factors, including price, product, warranty repair and service, delivery and ordering process. The study is based on responses from 2,837 new-home builders and remodelers. Each respondent evaluated up to two manufacturers of residential windows and patio doors.

In the study, Simonton achieved an index score of 829 on a 1,000-point scale. The study also found that energy efficiency of windows and patio doors emerged as a particularly important product feature in 2008.
