2011 Tax Credit Info – Extended Tax Cuts

Congress has passed legislation extending the Bush tax cuts until 2013. The final bill features a 2011 tax credit of 10% of the cost of windows, up to a maximum of $200, for Energy Star qualified windows and skylights and 10% of cost of Energy Star qualified doors up to a maximum of $500. Portions of the Bay Area are located in the North-Central and South-Central climate zones depending on geography. Low lying and inland areas such as Concord and San Ramon are generally in the South-Central zone while coastal and mountainous areas such as San Francisco, Oakland and Berkley are generally in the North-Central zone. Even though attempts were made to restore the full value of the original ARRA $1,500 credit Congressional leadership did not allow for an open amendment process on the compromise.
